As the release of the Google Pixel XL draws near, more and more details about the phablet surfaced. Recent leaks and pricing details are only some of the information that we have on the upcoming handset.
Google is pulling the plug on the Nexus family and is replacing it with a new Pixel line of handsets, according to sources familiar with the matter. Now, new information about the handset comes from Reddit and a clear case.
The company will maintain the pluses of the Nexus family, meaning that smartphones built under the Google brand will carry an almost pure Android on board and will get regulated updates for at least two years.
Taking a leaf out of the 2015's book, which brought the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, Google will release two new handsets in 2016. The upcoming devices will be dubbed the Pixel and Pixel XL, accounting for their respective difference in size. While the Pixel is said to sport standard smartphone dimensions, the XL variant is expected to come in phablet-form.
